About Mark

Started handling and training working dogs in 1970 as a military police K-9 handler working with explosive detection dogs and continued to handle working dogs through a career in law enforcement.

Mark moved to Maine in 1986. With an extensive resume in other areas Mark's love for animals won him over and led him to pursue an opening caring for the animals in our boarding facility. He currently runs the boarding facility and makes sure all of the animals are happy.

Mark is a transplant to Maine and loves living close to his daughter and son-in-law whom he says keep him very busy. His daughter often calls upon him to tend the flock of sheep and llamas that she and her husband own. In total, Mark has three adult children and six grandchildren.

When he is not working at Forest Avenue Vet or tending the sheep or garden, he takes pleasure in restoring old furniture, doing custom woodworking and competitive plate shooting. His grandchildren also keep him busy going fishing and riding bicycles.
