About Dr. Smith, DVM
Dr. Smith is a 1976 graduate of Michigan State University. Four years after graduation Dr. Smith heard about a veterinarian position at Forest Avenue Veterinary Hospital and he has been here ever since. In 1982 Dr. Smith became co-owner of the hospital along with Dr. Ahlers and they remained the owners until the recent purchase by Dr. Wilson in 2008.
Dr. Smith and his wife, Jo-Ann, raised their three children while they watched his career and the hospital flourish. Today, Dr. Smith is learning to appreciate what being a grandfather has to offer with the birth of his first grandchild (a babygirl, 7lbs/15oz., born on July 11, 2009). Aside from his loving family and career Dr. Smith enjoys gardening and fishing. He also hunts with his brittany spaniel, "Belle." His cat "Tex," likes to hunt mice all alone at the Smith residence which is just fine with Jo-Ann.
