About Thomas Ahlers, DVM

  Dr. Ahlers is from Dayton, Ohio
  and graduated from Ohio State
University in 1984.   He moved to
Maine, joined Forest Avenue
Veterinary Hospital and has been
here ever since.

He and Dr. Smith had a long successful partnership and recently sold the practice to Dr. Wilson. He likes general practice because of the variety of medical and surgical conditions that he gets to diagnose and treat. He especially enjoys orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, and complicated medical cases of all kinds.   He also still gets a kick out of the unique things that clients will tell him that their pet does, because it proves how complex animal behavior can be.

Dr. Ahlers has three wonderful adult children and a beautiful new grandson. In his time off from work he likes to play golf, fish, exercise, renovate houses, garden and do almost anything else that can be done outdoors.
